Machteld Hamaker will take over judging in classes where this is the case. All three judges will judge every class separately, compare notes and arrive at one set of placings. In addition each judge will have one Judge’s Favorite Award to give to any one photo they absolutely love. Aspects that will be taken into account are creativity, interpretation of the theme, photo quality, clever use of props/surroundings. Realistic backgrounds are not required. Bonus points for making the judges laugh! |
Class rules
You may enter an unlimited number of photos per class, but each horse may only enter each class once. There is no limit to how many classes you may enter. Every photo must contain at least one horse model* somewhere in the photo. Photos may be cropped, straightened and brightened (contrast and color balance can be adjusted too) but not otherwise altered digitally. Some classes have special rules, please read:
*What classifies as a model horse in our show? Any sculpture, a 3D object (not a relief or a medallion) resembling any equine. It includes realistic, fantasy, and cartoon styles. It can be a representation of any equine species like horses, zebras, donkeys, prehistoric horses, etc. The fantasy creatures must be at least 50% equine. The model can be made of any material, for example, plastic, resin, glass, porcelain, wood, metal, felted wool, paper mache. It can be a toy horse or a handmade model. Prizes First through sixth place in each class will receive digital ribbons. Medallions and other prizes will be awarded to placings of paid entrants. At the moment first and second place are set to win medallions and various prizes like saddle stands and ground poles. We are open to donations! Artist resin models will be awarded to Overall Champion and Reserve showers. These have been sculpted and donated by Anna Dobrowolska – Oczko of Horse and Bird Studio. Take a peek on the prizes page! Every judge will award a Judge’s Favorite Award to their favorite photo. All paid entrants will automatically be entered for a door prize raffle. You can gain one extra raffle ticket by donating prizes to the show. The door prize is a Skorie artist resin model of a yawning Shetland Pony in his shaggy winter coat. You will find a photo of Skorie on the prizes page. |
